"What Are Your Rights When Your Children Are Being Abused In Care ?"

childsrecordsAlecomm has been researching for the past two years about the rights of parents who have children who are in the care of the government  and that are being abused.  So what are the parents rights you wonder?  Most people would lead us to believe that the Childs Rights and Safety would be the most important concern, as is the common statements from all the government personnel involved in care, however it is very much different.

First of all, here are a few things that you cannot do if you children are being abused, to prove they are being abused:

  • You may not take any more than five photos of your children and the Access Worker must view every single photo that is taken.
  • You may not inspect your childrens body to take photos of bruises / rashes etc.
  • You may not inspect your childrens hair for lice.

Failure to abide by these ridiculous and overcontrolling rules willresult in contact being suspended, and if you complain about the abuse your children are suffering, you risk having contact suspended on a permanent basis.  How are Your Children's Charter of Rights implemented ? is a great example of how your children do have a booklet on their "alleged" rights, but they are not generally given this book, nor are they given any of those rights once they are in care.  Dogs in the pound have more rights than children in (alleged) care.

What else should you know?

Well, clients who have had children in care that have been involved in serious car accidents have had their files altered and or destroyed.  So we recommend that you regularly keep your files up to date with regards to what is kept on file with your loving and caring DoCS officers.

We also recommend that you gain your police files and peruse these as sometimes there can be inaccuracies in them that can be adversely used against you if they are not corrected.  This does happen.
