"Forced adoptions to continue with support from Labour and Liberal"

It is with a very heavy and shattered heart that I have heard that the NSW Government quietly passed their amendments to their adoption laws, affectively bringing back forced adoption after apologising to the mothers, fathers and their now adult children for forced adoptions of the past. It is a bridge too far for me to continue to respect those responsible..

This is the beginning, in my opinion, of opening thousands of women and their children in this country to the exploitation of their most fundamental human right to stay together at the most vulnerable time for both - pregnancy and confinement..

With all the volumes of current research that proves that a mother and her baby should not be separated because of the physical, mental and emotional damage caused to both, I am in shock and despair.

It is the beginning, of the insane adoption driven market of the 1920's to 1980's again and in my opinion opens the door to exploitation and corruption.

The sacred bond between a mother and her child, should be supported, protected and held with the highest respect and regard.

We are the generations that have lived with the lifelong trauma of separation, ruined lives and suicide.

In my opinion, these changes are savage, brutal, cruel and inhuman, reflecting the complete and absolute absence of any emotional intelligence and education by the politicians involved.

In my opinion, the NSW Government has just incurred a huge financial burden on their taxpayers of the future when ten, twenty, thirty years on, the people they affect today, will need public money to help with the serious mental health issues that are inflicted from forced family separation.

May god forgive those politicians who voted for these changes, who did not educate themselves with evidence based studies that adoption is hardly ever in the best interests of the child, did not listen to our Stolen Generations, Forgotten Australians, Care Leavers and the victims of forced adoptions. I and tens of thousands who have suffered in the past - never will.

You have lost my vote and the vote of my family and extended family - forever. Lets hope the other states do not follow!!!!!! In my opinion, they will.
