Thami Sikwevu and Paulette PrinslooBaby being breastfed by Mother baby at risk of medical harm/neglectMother caught midwife Paulette Prinsloo pinching and slapping and pinching her newborn babies cheeks arms and legs. Made formal complaint. Midwife refused to take complaint. Refused to notify police of an assault or report the midwife. She also refused to document matter or remove prinsloo from care of baby. She allowed Prinsloo to access patients medical record and ammend retrospectively the facts contained in it to cover up the assault. The midwives denied mother breastfeeding against the accreditation policy of the hospital and force fed the baby just hrs old 80mls formula without consent. Patient was forced to discharge early due to concern for childs safety and her right to breastfeed. After dr signed off on baby midwives tried to cover up their actions by maliciously reporting parents for medical neglect causing family to be attacked by police and social workers resulting in harm and caused the baby to be taken for 7weeks until the matter was found to be groundless and struck out. Both midwives refused parents demands to call a paediatrician in or at the least the dr in charge or don of nursing over complaints. The baby was neglected by the carer getting staphlococcal aureas in both eyes and her belly button. Child stopped breathing over 8mins in care before carer noticed and was clothed in rags, fed from dirty equipment resulting in thrush in the mouth also. Both Paulette Prinsloo and Thami Sikwevu should not work with vulnerable women and babies.Swan Hill Hospital Midwifery unitVictoria
